Celebration by Wilfred Pritchard is a striking bronze sculpture, measuring 170cm high and spanning 300cm in both width and depth. Cast in an edition of just three, this powerful work captures a group of five life-sized skeletons locked in a circle. They hold hands, their postures animated, as if caught mid-laugh, mid-dance, in a moment of uninhibited joy.
Though skeletal and evocative of mortality, the scene defies solemnity. Instead, it radiates life, movement, and togetherness. The skeletons’ poses vary slightly, one throws back its head as if laughing, another leans forward in motion. Their bony hands connect in a perfect ring, suggesting unity, rhythm, and shared spirit.
The bronze surface adds rich texture and weight. Light bounces off the polished curves of ribs and skulls, while shadows gather in the hollows of spines and joints. The overall effect is theatrical, even celebratory, with a playful yet haunting energy.
This sculpture blends dark humour with timeless symbolism. It invites reflection on the joy of life and the inevitability of death, yet does so with warmth and wit. The skeletons, far from frightening, feel human, expressive, and alive in their final dance.

The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 2 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
