This piece by Wilfred Pritchard is a unique sculpture crafted from steel and bronze. The piece depicts a bright red balloon, stylized and abstract, compressed within an old-fashioned press mechanism. The balloon’s exaggerated, flattened form contrasts with the rigid, industrial lines of the press.
The steel and bronze surfaces offer a rich interplay of texture and tone. The press retains its metallic strength, with dark, matte surfaces emphasizing its mechanical structure. In contrast, the balloon bursts with colour and smoothness, drawing the eye immediately to the centre of the composition. The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 2 people, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
