Prowling Wolves by Claire Trenchard, Wolf II, Bronze, Numbered 1 from Edition of 7, 80cm high by 140cm wide by 25cm deep

Prowling Wolves: Wolf II by Claire Trenchard is a life-size bronze sculpture. It captures a wolf mid prowl. The piece measures 80 cm high, 140 cm wide, and 25 cm deep. This edition of 7 embodies the silent, purposeful motion of a predator. Through its form, the sculpture combines realism with charming simplicity.

The wolf’s lean body and forward stance show alert focus. Its taut muscles evoke tension and quiet strength. Moreover, the sculpture conveys subtle energy, as if the wolf might spring into action at any moment. At the same time, the restrained detailing keeps the piece elegant and natural. As a result, it fits seamlessly into any outdoor setting.

Ideal for gardens, open spaces, or wooded areas, Wolf II commands attention. Its presence draws the eye and engages viewers with quiet intensity. Furthermore, while it stands powerfully alone, it is also part of a set of four wolves. Displayed together, the group creates a dramatic scene full of movement, interaction, and intent. This enhances the story told by the sculptures.

Claire Trenchard studied at Chelsea School of Art. She graduated with a BA in Fine Arts in 1978. She models her works from life using clay, plaster, or wax. Then, she casts them in bronze or bronze resin. Through this process, her sculptures retain lifelike anatomy, expressive detail, and dynamic presence. At the same time, they maintain clarity and artistic elegance.

Ultimately, Wolf II combines realism, charm, and artistry. It offers a strong outdoor focal point. Through its energy, posture, and presence, the sculpture connects viewers with the wild intensity of the wolf. In this way, it inspires admiration, storytelling, and a deeper appreciation of nature.
