The Miraculous Arrival by Land and Sea of the Saint into the West by Noah Taylor, Forged and fabricated steel, Unique, 250cm high by 230cm wide by 70cm deep, Body, Man, Religion, Nautical, Ship, Boat, sculpture
The Miraculous Arrival by Land and Sea of the Saint into the West by Noah Taylor is a strikingly surreal and abstract steel sculpture, measuring 250cm high, 230cm wide, and 70cm deep. Forged and fabricated with meticulous detail, this unique piece presents a dreamlike vessel, part boat, part wheeled chariot, navigating both land and sea.
At its helm stands a minimalist figure of a saint, reduced to essential form, yet radiating a quiet authority. Though stylized and sparse in detail, the figure’s presence commands attention, emphasizing spiritual guidance and purpose. The boat itself, formed from forged steel, blends mechanical and maritime elements. Wheels beneath the hull suggest impossible travel across terrains, while the sweeping metalwork evokes movement, tension, and pilgrimage. The piece radiates a sense of travel or even adventure.
This sculpture speaks to themes of transformation, faith, and myth. It feels both ancient and futuristic, timeless in its storytelling. The raw steel finish enhances its starkness and industrial character, reinforcing the contrast between the mechanical and the mystical.
Perfect for outdoor placement or a dramatic indoor setting, The Miraculous Arrival invites contemplation. It challenges viewers to consider journeys, physical, spiritual, and imagined. With its poetic title and bold form, the sculpture becomes both narrative and symbol, evoking a saint’s improbable voyage into the unknown, guided by hope and steel resolve.
