Picasso’s Goat by Joyce Playle is a bronze sculpture measuring 107cm high, 102cm wide, and 32cm deep. This edition 2 of 9 presents a stylised goat with exaggerated features.
The goat stands firmly, facing forward, its slender limbs and long neck contrasting with a large, rounded body. Its horns curve gracefully, echoing the elongated proportions of the neck and legs. While the anatomy remains accurate, Playle exaggerates these elements, creating a whimsical yet striking presence.
The bronze surface retains visible sculpting and moulding marks, adding texture and a handcrafted feel. These bumps and indentations enhance the sense of movement and character in the piece. The deep, dark grey patina emphasizes the goat’s form while maintaining an understated elegance.

The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
