This piece is a unique Shona sculpture carved from dark, durable springstone, it captures a powerful moment, a panther crouched low on a rock, body tense, head turned to the side in mid-hiss.
Nyeketa brings the animal’s energy to life through sharp lines, defined muscle, and poised balance. The panther’s body presses close to the stone base, ready to pounce or defend. Its curved spine, lowered shoulders, and arched tail all speak to motion held just beneath the surface. The open mouth and turned head convey warning and presence, as if the panther has just noticed an unseen threat.
Carved entirely by hand, the sculpture emphasizes sleek strength over fine detail. Smooth, polished surfaces contrast with rougher textures around the base, suggesting the rawness of the rock beneath the predator. The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
