Winston Nyekete
Born on the new year’s day in 1971 in Buhera district. He went to school from 1979 up to his O’ level in 1989 before moving to Harare, where he started working in industry in construction and engineering.He had no artistic background until he fell sick with T.B. and had to leave his mining job in 1999. He had to move whilst having his treatment, it was now he started visiting art centres and fell head over heels in love with sculpture. He began carving in 2000He is a fan of wild life and nature, this is where he got the theme for his work “LIVING IN HARMONY WITH NATURE” He has travelled all around the world with his work. He works with hard stones like granite; marble; leopard rock and hard serpentine.
