This piece by Wonder Chiwaridzo is a unique Shona cobalt stone sculpture it depicts a large owl with a smaller owl perched beside it on a rugged rock. Both owls face each other slightly, while their heads turn outward, engaging the viewer with a calm, watchful presence.
The larger owl sits dominantly on one side, its minimal features defined by pointed head feathers and visible eyes. The smaller owl mirrors these details but appears slightly overshadowed, emphasizing the protective and nurturing relationship. Chiwaridzo smooths and polishes the owls, allowing the deep grey cobalt stone to shine. Light green patches across the surface add subtle variation, enhancing the forms’ depth and presence. The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
