Joe Bloggs by John Humphreys, Fibreglass painted with acrylic, Unique, 35cms high by 36cms wide by 22cms deep
John Humphreys work is surreal and super-real, challenging the viewer’s conventional perceptions of 2- and 3-dimensions. This elongated portrait sculpture, was initially modelled in clay, further molded in silicone, then cast into fiberglass and finally painted with many fine layers of translucent acrylic colour for depth. The eyes are painted with resin and natural pigments and as with the skin, in many layers to further build the three dimensional illusion.
