Angel 1993 by James Copper is a unique marble sculpture measuring 100 cm high by 42 cm wide and 40 cm deep. The work presents a female torso, nude, posed upright in a neutral stance. The figure stops at the neck, shoulders, and upper thighs, giving it a simplified yet powerful presence.
From the back, a pair of solid wings extends downward. Their shapes are abstracted and minimal, yet clearly recognizable as wings. The forms hang naturally, suggesting weight and gentle movement. Together, the torso and wings create a balanced composition that draws the eye upward and outward.
The surface remains textured and somewhat rugged. This treatment emphasizes the stone’s materiality while adding tactile interest across the figure. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
