Stephen Hunton’s Head 1 is a playful and imaginative character sculpture made from found copper objects. Bold in scale and personality, it invites curiosity and amusement.
The piece stands nearly a metre tall. It presents a stylized human head formed from repurposed metal elements. Pipes, sheets, coils, and other copper fragments are assembled into an expressive, almost cartoon-like face.
The surface bears the warm patina of aged copper, deep greens, burnt oranges, and natural browns. These tones, along with the variety of textures, add depth and energy to the sculpture.
While the character is abstract, it feels oddly familiar, suggesting mischief, wisdom, or perhaps both. It might be a storyteller, a thinker, or simply a figure caught mid-thought.

Delivery & Installation
The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
