Plastic

Plastic sculptures can be entirely plastic or mixed with other materials, often using recycled plastic to highlight climate change. They are easily molded, offering new artistic possibilities. Sculptor Naum Gabo believed artists should use such materials to incorporate engineering concepts into art.

The 4 Horses of Apocalypse by Anthony Heywood

    £23,400 inc VAT

One of The Sculpture Park’s most loved sculptures.
This thought-provoking work is created from nostalgic artefacts of days gone by. Typewriters, plastic toys and TV screens have all stood the test of time, bound together into this meaningful sculpture.
A serious message underlines the work; by recreating the form of the steeds of the mythical ‘Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse’ and removing their human riders, a vision of a possible future; pollution overrunning the earth, is presented.
Artist Anthony Heywood’s approach to making sculptures was to draw upon art history as well as contemporary culture and political events. He sadly passed away in April 2022 but we are proud to be able to carry on exhibiting his Four Horses to inspire visitors to our sculpture park in Churt, Farnham, Surrey.
