Victor Matafi
BORN:
Victor was born 10th July 1983 at Highfields Maternity clinic. He grew up in Zviyambe area of Hwedza district Zimbabwe which is his current country of residence. He is married and has 1 son.
EDUCATION:
He studied at St Henry’s school up to ordinary level 1999
CAREER:
After school he helped his parents in the fields doing farming, later in 2001 he joined his brothers Washington Matafi and Elvis mamvura who were doing sculpting so he decided to proceed with stone carving himself, as brothers they shared ideas and designs until Victor developed his own style, because this skill is inherited from their elders they learn at a tender age.
MEDIUMS USED IN WORK:
Victor works in Opal, White and Springstone.
EXHIBITIONS:
His work is exhibited in Canada, Holland, Austria, USA, Germany and England.
