Bolero by Dorothy Brook is an elegant abstract bronze sculpture that captures the rhythm and passion of Spanish dance.
At first glance, the work resembles a smooth piece of fabric caught in motion. The folds twist, fall, and flow with a sense of rhythm, while the textured edges bring contrast and vitality. These sculpted forms echo the swirling movements of a dancer’s dress as it spins across the floor. The title Bolero further emphasises this connection, drawing inspiration from the Spanish dance that combines precision with flair.
Dorothy Brook works bronze with great sensitivity, creating surfaces that appear both fluid and solid. The smooth planes reflect light in soft waves, while the rougher textures suggest energy and movement. As the viewer walks around the sculpture, new lines and shadows appear, evoking the continuous unfolding of fabric in motion.

The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
