Moongate Seat by Simon Probyn is a bold and contemporary abstract steel sculpture, standing at 220cm high, 220cm wide, and 22cm deep. Shaped as a large, circular ring, this sculptural piece doubles as a functional seat. This invites interaction while making a striking visual statement.
Crafted from solid steel, the form is clean and powerful, with a minimalist elegance that contrasts beautifully with the raw strength of the material. Its circular shape echoes the traditional “moongate” motif found in Eastern architecture, symbols of transition, harmony, and new beginnings.

Simon Probyn lives in rural Herefordshire. He came into sculpturing quite late after having a totally unrelated job for 15 years. His materials usually consist of heavy industrial steel, both recycled and new. Subjects include both the abstract and figurative from new and found materials.
Delivery & Installation
The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 2 people, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
