Hope by Victor Halvani, Bronze, Metal, Signed and Numbered 4 of 6, 310cm high, 370cm wide, 130cm deep, Figurative, People sculpture
This striking outdoor sculpture by Victor Halvani captures the essence of aspiration through an elongated, abstract female figure reaching upward. With arms lifted toward the sky, the form expresses prayer, hope, and an unbreakable connection to something greater. The gesture feels both intimate and monumental—an embodiment of longing, perseverance, and forward vision.
Halvani shapes the figure in his signature style: smooth, flowing lines that create rhythm, grace, and quiet movement. The surface invites changing light to glide across its curves, enhancing the sense of spiritual elevation. Whether placed in a private garden, sculpture court, or large-scale public setting, this work commands attention while maintaining serenity. It does not simply occupy space—it uplifts it.
Born in Egypt in 1930 to a traditional Jewish family, Halvani grew up surrounded by faith, scholarship, and cultural depth. The son of a judge and a mother descended from a rabbinic lineage, he developed an early fascination with ancient Egyptian art and Biblical narrative. Encouraged by mentors after winning a national competition, he earned a full scholarship to study at the Zamalek Academy of Art and Cairo University, later continuing at the Bezalel Academy in Israel and Hammersmith College of Art in London (MA, Sculpture).
Throughout his distinguished career, Halvani lectured at Tel Aviv and Haifa Universities, founded influential art programs, and established a sculpture park and artists’ colony in Safed. Today, “Hope” remains installed at The Sculpture Park, admired by thousands. Acquisition and professional installation can be arranged upon request.
