Mark Bowman, Shell I, Bronze Resin, Edition 1 of 25, 44cm high by 90cm wide by 35cm deep
Shell I by Mark Bowman is a larger than life realistic bronze resin shell sculpture in beautiful blue patina.
The Sculpture:
A striking sculpture that transforms the delicate beauty of a natural shell into a bold and elegant work of art. This realistic piece captures every subtle curve, ridge, and texture of a seashell, magnified to an impressive scale.
The intricate detailing and smooth, flowing form evoke a sense of calm and connection to the ocean. The cool blue finish shimmers with depth, mimicking the play of light on water and adding a serene, almost ethereal quality to the sculpture.
While grounded in realism, the scale and presence of Shell I give it a contemporary, sculptural impact. It invites viewers to pause, reflect, and appreciate the quiet complexity of nature through an artist’s lens.
Both timeless and modern, this piece would make a stunning statement in a garden, coastal home, or interior space.
The Artist:
Mark Bowman lives and works in rural Northumberland. He studied and worked as an architectural technologist before going on to manage a wide range of construction projects that spread across the UK. His main influences come from his love of the natural environment along with of being able to work with a wide variety of different materials. When he was working in construction he spent time teaching himself how to carve wood and stone. His interest was fuelled further when he spent a year working in an artist blacksmiths forge. Mark also spent eight years working on offshore oilrigs where he became fascinated by the big steel structures.
Mark’s work has been exhibited in many different exhibitions across the UK.
