LIVES:
Lives and works in rural Northumberland.
CAREER:
Mark studied and work as an architectural technologist; he then went on to manage a wide range of construction projects that spread across the UK. His main influences come from his love of the natural environment along with of being able to work with a wide variety of different materials. When mark was working in construction he spent time teaching himself how to carve wood and stone, his interest was fuelled when he spent a year working in an artist blacksmiths forge. Mark spent eight years working on offshore oilrigs where he became fascinated by the big the environment of big steel structures.
MEDIUMS USED IN WORK:
Wood, Stone, aerated concrete, lead, slate, sandstone and laminated ply.
