Lillies by Jenny Pickford features individual floral sculptures made from forged steel and hand-blown glass. Each lily stands about 150 cm tall and 30 cm wide, rising upward with a strong, elegant presence. A long metal stem stretches from the ground, designed to be placed directly into soil for display.
The stem twists as it climbs, creating a gentle spiral that adds movement to the form. Near the top, the steel narrows and funnels upward, guiding the eye toward the glass flower above. This transition from dark, forged metal to vibrant glass creates a striking contrast.
At the top rests a unique glass lily. Each flower differs in colour and pattern, yet they share the same open, wavy shape. Some glass petals glow with warm tones, while others shift toward cooler hues. These variations make every piece feel personal, as though each lily has its own personality.
The glass appears delicate, but the steel beneath gives it strength and balance. Light shines through the petals, revealing swirls, streaks, and subtle colour blends. As the sun moves, the lilies seem to change, adding life to the sculpture.
Together, the steel and glass create a dialogue between durability and fragility. The metal anchors the work, while the glass brings brightness and emotion. Pickford’s lilies celebrate natural beauty while transforming it into something bold, elegant, and enduring. They invite viewers to stop, look closely, and enjoy how colour and structure come together.
