The Sculpture:

Wild Deer Leaping is a sculpture that depicts a mesmerizing scene of three animals leaping in perfect unison, frozen in a moment of graceful motion. Each deer is expertly crafted with exquisite detail, capturing the elegance and vitality of these magnificent creatures.

Their bodies seem to defy gravity as they leap. We can see the muscles that are taut with the effort of the bound. Their forms are elongated, conveying a sense of fluidity and dynamic energy. Their powerful legs are stretched outwards seemingly propelling them through the air with effortless grace.

The expressions on the faces? of the deer are serene yet focused. There is intense concentration on the faces of the animals as they navigate the space around them. We can see their ears are evidently tuned into their surroundings. Each have eyes that gleam with a sense of alertness and awareness.

The composition of the sculpture is carefully balanced. Each deer positioned to complement the others, therefore creating a harmonious sense of unity and cohesion. They appear to leap over unseen obstacles. Their movements are synchronized in a breathtaking display of natural beauty.

The Artist:

Claire Norrington has worked as a professional sculptor since her graduation from Winchester School of Art in 1991. In 1998 she was the youngest artist to be elected a member of the Royal Society of British Sculptor As well as completing a number of Public Sculptures, Claire has also undertaken numerous private commissions and more recently she has worked on sculpture for public sites.
