This piece by Tinei Mashaya is a unique Shona sculpture carved from springstone. Measuring 185cm high, 55cm wide, and 40cm deep, the piece shows a man captured in a moment of quiet strength and dignity.
The figure kneels with his body grounded yet poised. One arm rises high above his head, stretching upward with resolve. His other arm rests gently upon it, creating a balance of tension and release. The upward movement contrasts with the stability of the kneeling pose, giving the sculpture a sense of stillness and lift at the same time.
Mashaya carves the face with calm precision. The man’s features soften into a look of serenity, almost meditative. Despite the physical exertion implied by his stance, he radiates peace rather than struggle. The surface of the springstone, polished smooth in some areas and left textured in others, enhances the play of light across his form.

Delivery & Installation
The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 2 people, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
We can provide a suitable sculpture plinth for an extra charge, please enquire for details. Experienced professionals handle all our sculptures, ensuring safe delivery and proper installation.
