This piece is a unique steel sculpture measuring 45 cm high, 52 cm wide, and 34 cm deep. The piece depicts a stork standing on tall, slender legs. Its head tilts slightly forward, while the wings curve around the body, forming a protective, umbrella-like canopy beneath it. The posture conveys both poise and a subtle sense of sheltering.
Sheets of steel are cut and welded together to create a stylized form. Individual feathers are pointed and layered, giving texture and movement to the sculpture. Lumps and marks from the welding process remain visible, adding character and a handcrafted quality. At the same time, edges are smoothed to reduce harshness, though some sharpness remains, emphasizing the strength of the material.
The stork balances elegance with structural boldness. Its wings wrap tightly yet naturally, creating flowing lines that guide the viewer’s eye around the figure. The combination of angular metal sheets and rounded curves generates contrast and rhythm, giving the sculpture both energy and stability.

The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
