Steve Boss, Lifesize Wren, Solid Bronze, Edition of 250, 6cm high, 7cm wide, 4.5cm deep
The wren (Troglodytes troglodytes) is one of Britain’s smallest birds, yet for such a tiny creature it possesses an extraordinarily powerful and distinctive song. Often heard before it is seen, the wren has long been admired. Known for its spirited character, resilience and cheerful presence in gardens, woodlands and hedgerows throughout the British Isles.
Created by renowned British sculptor Steve Boss, this charming miniature sculpture beautifully captures the essence of the wren’s compact form and inquisitive nature. Hot cast in solid bronze at a British foundry and carefully hand finished. The sculpture combines exceptional craftsmanship with a delightful sense of character. The warm bronze patina contrasts elegantly with the darker tones of the bird’s body, highlighting the subtle textures and rounded form that make the piece so appealing.
One of Steve Boss’s most popular sculptures, this diminutive artwork can be comfortably held in the hand. Inviting a closer appreciation of both the subject and the sculptor’s skill. Its intimate scale makes it an ideal piece for display in a variety of settings. Such as a desk, bookshelf, windowsill, mantelpiece or occasional table, where its quiet charm can be enjoyed every day.
The sculpture appeals to a wide range of collectors, from bird lovers and wildlife enthusiasts to those seeking a meaningful gift for a gardener, nature lover or art collector. Its modest size also makes it particularly suited to those wishing to begin a sculpture collection or add a small yet distinctive bronze to an existing collection.
The sculpture comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, providing assurance that the piece is a genuine bronze casting approved by the sculptor.
