Seated Woman by Stella Shawzin is a large, minimalist marble sculpture, measuring 63cm high, 30cm wide, and 28cm deep. The figure depicts a nude woman sitting on a block, her body gently curled as she gazes down. She holds a bent knee up to her chest, her posture appearing natural, yet not entirely relaxed. This balance of tension and ease is captured through Shawzin’s elegant use of form.
The woman’s figure is smoothed and rounded, emphasizing the curves of her body while maintaining a sense of simplicity. Her face is intentionally featureless, focusing attention on the form and gesture rather than on facial expression. This lack of detail adds to the piece’s minimalist nature, leaving much to the viewer’s interpretation.
The marble surface is largely smooth and polished, yet the seat area stands out. Instead of a smooth finish, the stone around the seat is left more rugged and chiselled, adding texture and contrast. This deliberate variation in finish enhances the sculpture’s tactile quality and draws attention to the act of sitting.

The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
