Owl by Ant Beetlestone is a unique sculpture carved from cypress wood, standing 135cm high. The piece captures the calm presence of an owl perched securely on a carved log. The artist has shaped the bird with a rounded, apple-like face, a feature that draws the eye immediately and highlights the gentle, watchful character of the creature.
The owl’s body rises with quiet strength, its form smoothed yet still bearing the natural qualities of the wood. Its claws grip firmly into the log below, anchoring the bird with a sense of balance and weight. The head tilts slightly to one side, as if the owl has paused mid-watch, alert yet composed. This subtle turn of the head gives the sculpture movement, transforming a static block of wood into a lifelike figure full of presence.
The natural grain of the cypress adds depth and texture. Each curve and line of the wood enhances the detailing, from the smooth transitions of the body to the subtle impressions that suggest feathers. The artist allows the material to remain visible and honest, letting nature’s patterns play as much a role as the carving itself.

Delivery & Installation
The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
We can provide a suitable sculpture plinth for an extra charge, please enquire for details. Experienced professionals handle all our sculptures, ensuring safe delivery and proper installation.
