Dragon by Sean Crampton is a unique fantasy sculpture which instantly dominates any space. Crampton suspends the dragon from a chain, so it hangs dramatically in the air as if caught mid-flight.
The artist shapes most of the body as a skeletal framework, exposing bone like forms that suggest fragility yet radiate menace. In contrast, he builds the wings in full, stretching them wide with a sense of energy and motion. These wings anchor the creature’s power and give the impression that it could soar away at any moment.
Crampton uses the contrasting tones of copper and bronze to create depth and life. The metals shift under the light, glowing with warm browns and brilliant highlights. As you walk around the piece, the dragon changes character, sometimes appearing ghostly and fragile, sometimes fierce and commanding.

The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 2 people, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
