Aida by Jonathan Loxley(opens in new tab). Gilded Limestone on Composition Stone Base. 135 cm (sculpture height); 383 cm overall including base. Unique
This piece by Jon Loxley is a powerful and contemplative figurative sculpture by Jonathan Loxley. Carved from gilded limestone(opens in new tab) and mounted on a substantial composition stone base, the work portrays a serene portrait with eyes closed, capturing a moment of quiet introspection and stillness.
The face, with its smooth contours and elegant proportions, reflects a deep sense of peace. Loxley’s refined craftsmanship is evident in every curve and surface, while the gilding adds a luminous quality that enhances the spiritual presence of the piece. The contrast between the radiant limestone and the solid base adds visual balance and grounding.
Standing at over 3.8 metres tall in total, Aida makes a commanding statement in any setting. It is ideal for gardens, courtyards, or architectural spaces that invite reflection and connection.
As a unique work, Aida is both a portrait and a monument, a timeless expression of calm and inner stillness, sculpted with grace and strength.
