Walking into a New Life by Tonderai Sowa is a Shona Springstone sculpture standing 179 cm high, 84 cm wide, and 72 cm deep. At first glance, the eye is drawn along the twisting, intertwining form, following the continuous flow as it rises and falls.
The sculpture flows in one unbroken line. The shapes curve gracefully, loop around themselves, and bend back to meet another point. Each twist transitions smoothly into the next, creating a sense of motion and continuity. The rising and falling lines give the impression of a journey, with peaks and valleys suggesting challenges and progress.
The Springstone’s polished surface reflects light subtly. Variations in tone highlight the curves and edges, emphasizing depth and texture. Shadows shift as one moves around the sculpture, revealing new interactions between the loops and curves from different angles.

The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 2 people, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
