Up & Over by Emma Jean Kemp is a unique red metal sculpture measuring 270 cm high by 240 cm wide by 90 cm deep. The work commands attention through scale, colour, and an immediately dynamic structure. Its bold presence feels energetic and playful, while remaining carefully composed.
The sculpture is formed from linear sections of red metal that arc into a semi-circular, bent-over shape. These lines curve and rise with purpose, creating a strong sense of upward movement. At the center, a vertical section lifts higher than the rest, anchoring the composition and introducing balance. This central rise suggests motion frozen at its peak.
The overall form hints at human gesture. One section appears to bend backward, while another seems to stand above it. This implied interaction gives the sculpture a figurative undertone without becoming literal. Abstraction remains dominant, yet the piece feels animated and expressive. The curves guide the eye smoothly across the structure, while open spaces allow the form to breathe.
The red finish plays a critical role. Its intensity heightens the sense of energy and clarity. The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 2 people, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
