Tusk by Bruce Kirby stands 92 centimetres high, 32 centimetres wide, and 27 centimetres deep, presenting a striking abstract sculpture carved from stone. The piece evokes the power and elegance of an elephant’s tusk, yet Kirby transforms the familiar form into a sculptural exploration of line, volume, and material. Rather than simply reproducing a natural object, the artist abstracts its essence, emphasizing sweep, curvature, and solidity, and turning stone into a study of both form and presence.
At first glance, the tusk’s graceful arc draws the eye upward, while closer inspection reveals subtle variations in surface and texture. Light interacts with the stone’s surface, highlighting polished areas and casting shadows in recessed grooves, enhancing the sense of movement and depth. Moreover, the sculpture’s tapering form creates rhythm and balance, guiding the viewer’s gaze from base to tip and encouraging engagement from multiple angles.

The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
