The Fighter by Matt Lamb is a unique steel sculpture signed and dated 2006, measuring 350 cm high by 290 cm wide by 180 cm deep. The work rises at an imposing scale, immediately asserting its presence through bold color and expansive form. It presents an abstracted human figure caught mid-action, poised with energy and intent.
The figure is constructed from bent metal pipes that curve and intersect to form a stylised silhouette. These elements remain largely flat in assembly, yet thinner strips extend and overlap to introduce depth and movement. The body steps forward slightly. At the same time, the arms lift upward in a gesture that suggests both momentum and resolve. The open mouth adds an expressive note, reading as joyful rather than aggressive.
Colour plays a central role. Bright, playful hues move across the surface, broken by areas of black that sharpen contrast and structure the form. These colors animate the figure and emphasize its rhythm. The sweeping lines guide the eye upward and outward, reinforcing the sense of motion contained within the pose.

Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
