This piece is a unique Shona sculpture carved from sapolite stone. It measures 25 cm high, 25 cm wide, and 25 cm deep. The piece takes the form of a very rounded head, its ivory-white surface giving it a bright, almost glowing presence.
On one side, Chiwawa has carved a simple face. The features are minimal, yet clear. Eyes, nose, and mouth emerge gently from the smooth curve of the stone. The simplicity adds calmness, leaving space for the natural qualities of the material to speak.
The stone itself remains unpolished, yet smooth to the touch. Its soft surface reflects light in a subtle way, emphasizing shape rather than shine. This choice creates a balance between rawness and refinement, keeping the sculpture grounded while still elegant.
The rounded form feels complete and self-contained. The head has no sharp edges, only gentle curves that draw the eye around its surface. As viewers move, the sculpture shifts in character, one side abstract and pure, the other carrying a human face.

Delivery & Installation
The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
