Sun Face by Addington Nyamasoka is a distinctive Shona Springstone sculpture that explores the human face through simplified lines, elegant curves and contrasting stone surfaces. Measuring 26 cm high, 28 cm wide and 27 cm deep, this unique sculpture takes the form of a rounded head, combining an almost spherical presence with a highly stylised expression.
Nyamasoka reduces the facial features to their essential elements, allowing line and proportion to define the sculpture’s character. Long, narrow eyes stretch gently across the face, while small lips provide a subtle focal point below. Most notably, the nose follows a sweeping curve across the oval form of the head. Consequently, the features appear integrated into the overall shape rather than applied as separate anatomical details.
Moreover, the treatment of the Springstone creates a compelling contrast between texture and colour. Smooth, highly polished areas reveal the stone’s rich black surface, giving the sculpture a deep and lustrous appearance. In contrast, selected carved sections expose lighter grey tones beneath. The Sculpture Park will organise and pack each sculpture, then hand it over to a courier for delivery. We insure all deliveries during transit to protect against any damage or loss. Sculptures usually leave for dispatch within 5 to 14 working days after purchase. Experienced professionals handle all our sculptures, ensuring safe delivery and proper installation.
