Four Headed Totem Pole, Wood, Unique, 310cm high by 90cm wide by 95cm deep, Body, Spiritual sculpture
This piece is a unique wooden sculpture. It is carved from a single tree trunk, it keeps its natural bark and rugged grooves, which gives the artwork a raw, spiritual presence. Instead of removing the trunk’s texture, the artist works with it, allowing the wood’s history to shape the sculpture’s personality.
On one side of the trunk, four faces emerge from the surface. Each face carries the same calm, meditative expression. Their eyes remain closed, and their lips form a slight, serene smile. Rather than being isolated or separated by clean cuts, the faces blend softly into the wood. Bark divides them like natural borders, yet the features still feel connected, as if the four share a single spirit. The carved forms are smoothed, but the wood’s original splits, bumps, and ridges are left untouched on their surfaces. This choice makes the faces appear as though they are growing out of the tree instead of being placed onto it.
The sculpture has a quiet, contemplative energy. It suggests harmony between human form and nature, between individuality and unity. Four Headed Totem Pole stands like a guardian or witness, grounded in the earth yet filled with presence, inviting viewers to reflect on identity, ancestral connection, and the wisdom of old wood.
