This piece is a striking abstract sculpture made from resin, steel, and wood. It stands tall at 176 cm high, with an expansive wingspan of 87 cm. From the outset, the piece creates a strong sense of arrival and suspension. The bird appears mid-landing, caught in a moment of quiet motion.

The form feels light and airy. Its body ripples and waves as if shaped by wind. The wings stretch wide to either side, splayed open to slow its descent. Meanwhile, the head curves gently forward, guiding the movement downward. Although the sculpture avoids fine detail, the silhouette remains instantly recognisable. The artist focuses on shape and flow rather than realism.

Two slender steel rods rise from the wooden base. These supports curve elegantly into the bird’s body. As a result, the sculpture appears to float above the ground. The base itself feels solid and grounding. In contrast, the bird above feels weightless and free. This balance between strength and delicacy defines the work.

The surface remains smooth and polished throughout. A deep bronze tone dominates the sculpture. However, subtle silver highlights trace the edges of the wings and curves. These lighter accents catch the light and enhance the sense of movement. As you move around the piece, the colours shift gently.

Overall, Cloud Bird explores motion, air, and balance. It invites the viewer to pause and reflect. Through simple form and elegant materials, the sculpture captures the quiet poetry of flight and landing.

The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 2 people, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
