Standing 124 cm high and carved from richly textured springstone, A Family by Sam Wabe communicates warmth, unity, and human connection through abstract yet unmistakably figurative forms. Instead of relying on literal detail, the sculpture uses simplified shapes to express the essence of family. Two adults rise at the centre, their tall, rounded bodies forming a protective frame. They lean subtly toward one another, not out of dependency, but out of shared strength and tenderness. Their presence creates a powerful sense of balance, as though they have rooted themselves firmly in life’s challenges and joys.
Between them, two smaller figures nestle close. Their clean, smooth contours echo the adults’ forms, suggesting continuity across generations. The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
