BORN:
Danu was born in 1955.

EARLY LIFE:
From a young age, Danu showed a strong artistic inclination, leading to his first exhibition at just 18 years old at the Centre Culturel in Cagnes-sur-Mer.

LIVES:
He lives and works in Vence, France, on the French Riviera.

CAREER:
Danu has developed a distinctive and evolving sculptural practice over several decades. In 1979, he was accepted as a member of both the Artistes Indépendants and Artistes Français, marking an important step in his professional recognition. His career has been characterised by continuous experimentation with materials and techniques, allowing him to refine a unique visual language.

MATERIALS:
Danu initially worked with stretched wires, later exploring engraved and painted plexiglass. His more recent work involves laser-cut steel plates, where carefully placed openings create striking three-dimensional effects and a sense of depth through silhouette and light.

STYLE AND SUBJECTS:
His work is strongly inspired by the eternal feminine, as well as animals and plant life from the natural world. Danu frequently explores the form and dimensions of the female body, using a variety of techniques to reinterpret and abstract the figure. His sculptures are notable for their balance between solidity and openness, using negative space as a key expressive element.

AWARDS AND EXHIBITIONS:
Danu has exhibited extensively since his youth, with shows in cities including Cannes, Paris, Deauville, Brussels, Monaco, and Venice. His long exhibition history reflects both national and international recognition of his innovative sculptural work.
