Bird in Flight by Hattakitkosol Somchai captures a bird diving gracefully through the air. The design is minimal and abstract, reducing the form to essential lines and curves while maintaining a clear sense of motion.
One wing stretches downward, while the other folds neatly to the side as the body arcs toward the ground. The lower wing rests on the marble base, giving the bird support while creating the impression of effortless suspension. This clever structure allows the figure to appear airborne, frozen mid-dive, and full of energy.
The bronze surface is smooth and polished, reflecting a muted golden tone. Light glances across the curves, highlighting the subtle contours of the wings and body. The marble base contrasts with a soft, light grey, carved and smoothed to provide a solid foundation without distracting from the figure above.
The sculpture balances abstraction with clarity. The simplified forms and elegant lines emphasize movement and direction. The interaction between the bronze and marble enhances the visual flow, guiding the eye from the tip of the stretched wing to the base.

The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
