Frog in Reeds by Martin Scorey is a unique sculpture measuring 110 cm high, 43 cm wide, and 52 cm deep. It combines painted wood with engine pistons to create a lively and imaginative scene.
The frog, carved from wood and painted a bright green, immediately draws the eye. Its smooth, rounded body feels full of life. In contrast, the eyes are made from shiny engine pistons. These metallic goggles add an unexpected industrial touch, making the creature both charming and quirky.
Around the frog, tall and thin reeds rise upward. They are spaced apart, giving the scene an airy, open feel. The frog grips a few of these slender blades, its limbs wrapped tightly as if holding on mid-climb. This pose adds a sense of movement, as though the frog might leap at any moment or quietly watch the world from its perch.
Everything sits on a crisp white wooden base. This clean surface grounds the sculpture and makes the green and metallic tones pop even more. The vertical lines of the reeds contrast with the frog’s rounded shape, creating visual balance.

Delivery & Installation
The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
We can provide a suitable sculpture plinth for an extra charge, please enquire for details. Experienced professionals handle all our sculptures, ensuring safe delivery and proper installation.
This piece is not currently on display at the park, although visitors can request a viewing. Additional images, videos, measurements, and details can be provided upon request.
