Tom Merrifield began his career as a dancer, a path cut short by a cartilage operation. Consequently, he turned to sculpture in the early 1970s, channelling his understanding of the human body into bronze. Over time, he became an acclaimed sculptor, renowned for his ability to capture movement and anatomy. He continued to create exceptional work until his death at age 88 in 2021.
