Lady by Austin Emery, Stone, Signed, Unique, 31cm high, 44cm wide, 8cm deep, Body, Women, Nude sculpture
Lady by Austin Emery is a bold, intimate study of the female form. It stands 31 cm high and immediately captures attention. Carved from Portland stone, the sculpture combines solidity with fluid abstraction. Moreover, Emery transforms the material into a dynamic celebration of the body. The curves are stylized yet recognizable, emphasizing the torso, hips, and shoulders.
In addition, Emery paints the stone in warm red and orange tones. This choice amplifies the sculpture’s presence and adds vitality. At the same time, the colours contrast with the stone’s natural coolness, creating visual tension. As the eye moves across the form, the carved surfaces and painted hues guide the viewer. The abstraction allows multiple interpretations. While the figure represents a nude woman, it also evokes strength, passion, and energy. The gentle shifts from convex to concave surfaces suggest posture and weight, without relying on realism.
Furthermore, Emery balances intimacy with monumentality. The width of 44 cm and depth of 8 cm gives a sense of expansiveness. As a result, viewers are invited to move around the sculpture and experience it from multiple angles. Light dances across the painted surfaces, highlighting texture and form.
Finally, as a signed, unique edition, Lady carries Emery’s personal imprint. Through abstraction, colour, and material mastery, the sculpture transforms the human figure into a vibrant study of presence, movement, and feminine elegance.
