Grew up in Canada and developed an early interest in sculpture and stone carving, later pursuing a professional career in architectural and fine art sculpture.

EDUCATION:

Trained in architectural stone carving and sculptural techniques, honing skills that would support commissions on historic and contemporary buildings.

CAREER:

Since 1996, Emery has worked as an architectural stone carver, completing major commissions for Westminster Abbey, The Royal Albert Hall, the Houses of Parliament, and the Tower of London. He combines traditional carving techniques with contemporary artistic expression.

MATERIALS:

Primarily works in stone, creating detailed carvings, sculptural plaques, and architectural elements for both historic restoration and new projects.

STYLE AND SUBJECTS:

Focuses on the direct and spontaneous intervention of creative force upon material, producing works that balance precision with expressive, tactile qualities.

AWARDS AND EXHIBITIONS:

Selected for numerous high-profile commissions including Westminster Abbey and Bermuda Cathedral. Short-listed for the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts and other public art competitions. Recognised by Saatchi Online Magazine’s Critic’s Choice and awarded a Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Fellowship to work at Studio Sem in Pietrasanta, Italy. Exhibits both solo and in group exhibitions across the UK.
