Staying Attached by Fannie Mupanga is a unique Shona sculpture carved from opal stone. Measuring 112 cm high, 65 cm wide, and 32 cm deep. The piece portrays two giraffes standing side by side, their long necks intertwined in a graceful embrace. Their heads lift high, folding back to gently press against one another in a gesture of closeness.
The polished surfaces highlight the flowing curves of the necks and bodies, while the natural tones of the opal stone add warmth and depth. Light glides across the smooth planes, accentuating the elegant lines and the harmony between the two figures. Subtle textural contrasts bring out details in the heads and forms without breaking the overall flow.
The intertwined necks create a strong sense of unity. The viewer’s eye naturally follows the looping curves, moving upward to the raised heads and back down to the grounded stance of the figures. This circular rhythm suggests both strength and tenderness, balancing motion with stillness.

Delivery & Installation
The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 2 people, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
