Dreaming Head 1990 by James Copper stands 28 cm high, 40 cm wide, and 52 cm deep. The sculpture presents a man’s head carved from a single piece of stone. The back of the stone remains mostly untouched, making it appear as though the head is resting on the natural rock. The edges are rough, yet Copper smooths select areas so the piece sits evenly. This contrast between carved and raw surfaces draws attention to the form while preserving the stone’s natural texture. Consequently, the sculpture feels both organic and intentional.
From above, the head’s shape, expression, and proportions read most clearly. The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
