This piece by Innocent Nyashenga is a unique Shona Springstone sculpture measuring 24 cm high, 69 cm wide, and 40 cm deep. The piece shows a swan in a calm, reclining pose, combining sculptural grace with quiet function.
Carved from dark green to black Springstone, the sculpture highlights the strength and polish of this prized material. The swan’s rounded body flows smoothly, its surface catching and reflecting light. The head tilts gently forward, giving the bird a peaceful, composed presence. Subtle ridges along the back suggest folded wings, keeping the form simple yet expressive.
At its centre, the artist hollows out the back to create a shallow basin. This space turns the sculpture into a working birdbath without disrupting its harmony. The curve of the hollow follows the body’s natural line, keeping the design balanced and elegant.
The piece rests solidly while feeling fluid and alive. Its polished surface invites touch, while the basin welcomes water and birds. Each angle reveals a new relationship between light, shadow, and texture.

Delivery & Installation
The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
We can provide a suitable sculpture plinth for an extra charge, please enquire for details. Experienced professionals handle all our sculptures, ensuring safe delivery and proper installation.
