A Pair of Lead Athletes, After the Antique presents two striking figurative sculptures in lead, each measuring 115cm high, 120cm wide, and 70cm deep. Both depict a male runner poised at the edge of action, his body hunched forward in a position that conveys strength and anticipation. His stance shows slight tension, as though he waits for the signal to sprint. The sculpted figure directs his focus straight ahead, capturing the concentration and discipline of an athlete moments before movement.
The form is left bare, its anatomy rendered with classical balance and proportion. A simple leaf, placed across the figure’s modesty, recalls the modest coverings seen in antique works. This subtle detail reinforces the sculpture’s historical inspiration while also softening its bold physicality.
Although presented as a pair, the two figures are identical in form. Their repetition emphasizes symmetry and balance, as if one echoes the other in perfect unison. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
