The Family by Andre Felix is a unique stainless steel sculpture standing 400 cm high, 148 cm wide, and 92 cm deep. The work presents three abstract poles grouped together to represent a family. Their differing heights suggest relationships: two tall poles rise side by side, while a smaller one nestles close, evoking the presence of a child within the unit.
The tallest pole serves as the central anchor. From one side, a curved bar extends outward and wraps around the second tall pole, symbolizing connection and protection. The smallest pole also reaches upward with its own bar, attaching to the tallest at the base. This linking gesture emphasizes dependence, unity, and support between the forms.
Each pole ends with a diagonal cut at the top, giving the composition sharpness and energy. The reflective stainless steel surface enhances the abstraction, catching light and shifting in tone as the viewer moves. This constant play of light and shadow adds movement and depth, allowing the rigid forms to feel dynamic.
Through simple geometric shapes, Felix captures the essence of family bonds. The sculpture conveys strength, closeness, and balance. Its monumental scale elevates these relationships into a universal statement about connection and belonging.
Delivery & Installation
The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 2 people, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
