Standing 87 cm high, 23 cm wide, and 13 cm deep, the piece features a carved wooden structure with elegant curves and twists. From the outset, the viewer’s eye follows the flowing contours, guided by hollows and arches that create a sense of movement and energy.
Barratt stretches steel wires across the carved hollows, transforming the solid wood into a resonant interplay of line and space. Moreover, the tension in the wires contrasts with the flowing curves of the wood, creating a dynamic visual dialogue between rigidity and flexibility. Light interacts with the surfaces and wires differently from each angle, casting shadows and emphasizing the sculpture’s three-dimensional depth. The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
