Motherhood by Isaac Kahn is a geometric abstract sculpture made of polished bronze on a marble plinth. The piece measures 44cm high, 32cm wide, and 20cm deep, with an edition of 3/4. It portrays a mother holding her child in an intimate embrace. The mother sits with her knees raised, her head lowered, while her child stands between them. The figures wrap their arms around each other, the mother envelops the child, and the child reaches up to wrap their arms around the mother’s neck.
The forms are abstract, with no clear details. However, the shapes and gestures are still easy to recognize, focusing on the emotional connection between the two. The smooth, rounded lines suggest warmth and affection, emphasizing their bond over specific facial or bodily features.
The sculpture’s outer surfaces gleam with a polished gold finish, which contrasts beautifully with the matte black interior surfaces. The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
