This piece by Tonderai Sowa is a unique Shona sculpture carved from springstone. Measuring 70 cm high, 52 cm wide, and 30 cm deep, this abstract piece captures fluidity and movement through a twisting, curving form that seems to grow and unfold from within the stone itself.

The sculpture rises in a graceful spiral, its lines looping and bending in continuous motion. Each curve flows naturally into the next, creating a rhythmic shape that feels both organic and deliberate. While entirely abstract, the form evokes petals, waves, or tendrils, suggesting life, energy, and transformation.

Sowa uses the dark, dense qualities of springstone to full effect. Polished surfaces gleam under light, emphasizing the smooth arcs and deep contours. In contrast, matte areas add texture and grounding, allowing the eye to follow the sculpture’s path with ease. The natural veining in the stone adds subtle variation, giving the piece depth and richness without overpowering the form.

Delivery & Installation

The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.

We can provide a suitable sculpture plinth for an extra charge, please enquire for details. Experienced professionals handle all our sculptures, ensuring safe delivery and proper installation.
